To view your vehicles on the map you’ll need to create a Livetrack group.

  1. On the Fleet Overview perspective/dashboard, you’ll see the Resource Viewer on the left at the top.
  2. Click on the + in the circle near to the Search box.
  3. Name your Livetrack Group by replacing ‘New Group’ and click on the green tick to confirm.
  4. Next, click on the three dots to the right of your new Livetrack group, and click on Manage Livetrack.
  5. Finally, drag the vehicle you want to ad to this LiveTrack from the column on the right into the column on the left, then click on the Close button.

As the Insight Organisation Administrator, you will receive an email inviting you to set up your Insight Organisation.

  1. Click on the link in your email.
  2. Check that your full name is correct.
  3. Then choose the prefix you would like for your Insight URL. For example, if your company name is ABC Couriers Limited, you could type in abccouriers in the box. Your company’s unique Insight URL would then be abccouriers.mytrakm8.com.
  4. Choose a password and type it in the Password box. Your password needs to contain at least one capital letter, at least one number, at least one lowercase letter, at least one special character and be 8-64 characters long.
  5. Type in the same password in the Confirm password box.
  6. Next, click on the JOIN & REGISTER TO ORGANISATION button.

Creating a Vehicle in your Insight Organisation is easy, follow these steps to create one or more Vehicles.

  1. In your Insight Organisation, click on your profile image or icon and click on Administration in the menu.
  2. Click on Vehicles in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click on the three vertical dots next to the ‘Search for a vehicle’ search box and click on Add Vehicle.
  4. Type the vehicle’s registration number in the Registration box.
  5. Complete the Odometer (mi), VIN, Fuel TypeMake and Model boxes (if necessary).
  6. Click on the Tags box, type in a name for your Tag then click on the Create new button. You can create multiple Tags for your vehicle; we recommend creating a tag of the vehicle registration number if you want to restrict which people/drivers can view this vehicle. Other Tag names could be ‘Vehicles’, ‘Vans’ or the name of location or branch. Find out more about how Insight uses Tags below.
  7. Click on the Save button to create your Vehicle.


What are Tags?

Tags in Insight are a way of grouping things such as People and Vehicles. We recommend creating a tag of the vehicle registration number if you want to restrict which people/drivers can view this vehicle. For example, if you have multiple vehicles you may choose to group these with a Tag named ‘Vehicles’ or if you wanted to be more granular, you could tag your company cars as ”Cars’ and company vans as ‘Vans’. You can add multiple Tags to your vehicle, if necessary.

Once you’ve added Tags to your entities, you can use them for reporting, alerts and scoping user roles in Insight.

Claiming your Trakm8 Device/s in your Insight Organisation is easy, follow these steps to claim one or more devices.

  1. In your Insight Organisation, click on your profile image or icon and click on Administration in the menu.
  2. Click on Devices & Accessories in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click on the three vertical dots, then select + Claim Device at the top right-hand side of the screen.
  4. Type the device’s IMEI number in the box (this is the 15-digit number which starts ’35’ and can be found on the device), then press the Enter key on your keyboard to confirm. Multiple devices can be claiming by repeating this step.
  5. Click on the Search button then on the Save button.
  6. If you have already created your vehicle in Creating Vehicles in your Insight Organisation, click on the three vertical dots next to the device you have just claimed and click on Configure Device.
  7. Select the relevant vehicle from the drop-down list then click on the Save button.

Creating People in your Insight Organisation is easy, follow these steps to create one or more People.

  1. In your Insight Organisation, click on your profile image or icon and click on Administration in the menu.
  2. Click on People in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click on the three dots at the top right-hand side of the screen, then + Add Person.
  4. Type the person’s full name in the Full name box.
  5. Change the Time Zone, Language and Unit of Measure (if necessary).
  6. Click on the Tags box, type in a name for your Tag then click on Create new. Your Tag name could be ‘People’, ‘Van Drivers’ or the name of location or branch. Find out more about how Insight uses Tags below.
  7. In the Configure Email section, click on Invite this user and enter the person’s email address.
  8. Next, click on the + next to Build the role & scope you want to apply to this new user then click on Choose the roles to apply to this user and choose the relevant user role/s such as Administrator, Manager or Driver. You can select multiple roles by holding down your ctrl key on your keyboard while selecting roles.
  9. Next, select which Tags you would like to give permission to this person under Select the scope for the invited user. You can select multiple Tags by holding down your ctrl key on your keyboard while selecting Tags. If you are creating a Driver, add the vehicle registration number Tag created on the Creating Vehicles in your Insight Organisation page.
  10. Click on Save, an email invite would then be sent to the person to create their password.

There may be occasions when you need to give the Trakm8 support team access to your Insight Organisation, you can enable Remote Support for a specific period and disable access at any time.

  1. In your Insight Organisation, click on your profile image or icon and click on Support in the menu.
  2. Click on the Enable Remote Support button.
  3. To select how long you would like to give Remote Support access, change the dropdown field from ‘1 Day’ to ‘3 Days’ or ‘1 Week’ and click on the Submit button. Alternatively, select ‘Custom Date’ and using the date picker, select any future date and click on the Submit button.
  4. You should then see ‘Remote Support is Enabled’ above the Configure Remote Support button.
  5. You can disable Remote Support at any time by clicking on the Configure Remote Support button and clicking on the Disable button.
